Renfrewshire Council enhanced their early learning resources with the construction of new build childcare centres.

BMS were appointed on a Design & Build basis, to develop the detailed design and install the mechanical services. The design incorporated renewable technology in the form of a high efficiency air source heat pump to provide heating to the building and generate domestic hot water.

A remote plantroom accommodates plant and equipment including heating buffer tank, domestic hot water cylinder, water storage tank, booster pumps and BMS control panel.

Services are distributed to the building to serve heating comprising ceiling mounted radiant panels in children’s areas and radiators to staff facilities. Plumbing services are provided to kitchen, laundry, toilets and sanitary ware located throughout the building.

Mechanical ventilation is provided to the kitchen, laundry and toilet areas with natural ventilation serving the main play areas via automated high level glazed units.
